The United States Recruiting Phoenix Battalion is one of the seven such battalions. It is part of the 5th Army United States Recruiting Brigade. The Battalion is in Pheonix, Arizona.
The main mission of the battalion is to execute recruiting efforts for the military. It has approximately 40 recruiting stations. It has the Luke Air Force Base roughly 30 miles away.

Shipping to a Base in the CONUS Area
Since USAREC, Phoenix Battalion is on United States soil, it is in the CONUS area. The implication of this is that you will have to make your arrangements for your POV. That is unless you are qualified for special concessions.
Take your PCS to your transportation officer and ask if you are qualified for any assistance in moving your POV from the government. Your TO is the best source of information about your move.

Military Car Shipping
If you have a vehicle to ship to USAREC, Pheonix Battalion, know that you have to do and plan for some things.
For a start, you might have to sponsor the transportation of your vehicle. It is on continental soil so the government won’t take the expenses for your POV. Discuss though with you TO for the availability of exceptions to the rule.
Research on USAREC, Pheonix Battalion to know if there are rules concerning POVs. Also, seek permission for any propane tanks that might be used in your vehicles. They are generally not allowed on bases.
You will also need to prepare certain documents that you will have to present at different points. They include:
- Proof of ownership.
- Proof of lease and permission to move the vehicle to the destination.
- Document of exemption from certain shipping rules where applicable.
- Identification issued by the United States Government.
Preparing your car for Shipment
You cannot just drop your car off for transportation. You have to prepare it for shipping. The things to do include:
- Checking the tire pressure, making sure it is optimal, and also checking for leaks.
- Document any marks, scratches, designs, or dings. It will be better if you take pictures as well.
Military Motorcycle Shipping
Since you will be shipping your motorcycle to a base within the United States, the government most likely won’t sponsor the transportation of the POV. You might however be eligible for such help under certain circumstances. Discuss that with your TO.
You might be tempted to ride your bike to the base you have been posted to. This will, in theory, reduce the cost of transporting your bike to the base. In practice, you might not report at the base on time. The best option is to use a motorcycle shipping company.
Prepare your proof of ownership and your military ID as necessary documents when you want to ship your motorcycle.
Preparing your motorcycle for Shipment
Preparing a motorcycle isn’t as hard as it sounds. All you have to do is:
- Get a mechanic to fix all faults. Faults that aren’t fixed should be documented.
- Wash the bike and dry with a clean cloth.
