During the Great Recession, the automobile industry in the United States suffered greatly. After the much-publicized auto bailout that General Motors and Chrysler received under the Obama Administration, the situation looked bleak for the Big 3, which also includes Ford. However, after various restructuring and renewed efforts by these companies to improve their vehicles, it's safe to say that the American auto industry has experienced a full resurgence and now produces vehicles that are scoring as high in many cases as ones from Japan, Korea, and Germany. Chevrolet Cruze LT.
The Chevrolet Cruze LT has been completely redesigned and comes standard with a 1.4 liter, four-cylinder turbo engine with a six-speed automatic transmission. A nifty feature is its start-stop feature, which reduces the use of fuel when the car is idle. There's also a 1.6 liter turbodiesel and a hatchback model now available. Its infotainment system that includes both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto has been praised.
Ford Fusion SE.
This midsize car scores extremely high marks for how it drives, with its handling scoring as high as many sport sedans from Europe.
