Will My Car Be Picked Up and Delivered to My Home?
There are two options when it comes to pick-up and delivery. With terminal-to-terminal delivery, you’ll drop your car off at a central depot, where your car will be loaded onto a transport and delivered to a terminal near your final destination. Once there, you’ll be able to come by and collect your vehicle.
Using door-to-door service, we’ll pick up your car at your home, then deliver it to your final destination. This option tends to cost a little more, but it is also more convenient.
Be aware, though, that some roads are too tight for trucks, so you may need to make arrangements to meet your driver in a more easily accessible location.
Will My Car Be Covered by Insurance?
Yes! Every auto transportation company is legally required to have an insurance policy that covers their shipments. Make sure to inspect your car before and after delivery. If you notice any damage that occurred during your auto shipment, let us know right away so we can begin the claims process.
Can I Schedule My Pick-Up and Delivery Times?

Is Shipping a Car from State to State Complicated?
For the most part, interstate vehicle transportation is pretty straightforward. While every state has a different set of laws regarding motor vehicles, our carriers are well-versed in the process!
We make sure all our drivers are licensed and insured to handle moving across state lines. This is a standard process handled by the Department of Transportation, and every driver we hire will be licensed to handle your interstate move.
Do I Need to Be There When My Car is Picked Up or Delivered?
If you choose door-to-door car transportation, you or an authorized representative will need to be present at both pick-up and delivery in order to sign the bill of lading, which states the condition of your vehicle and where the car will be delivered.
If you choose terminal-to-terminal shipping, you’ll still need to sign paperwork when you drop off and pick up your vehicle, which means that either you or an authorized representative will need to be there, as well.
If you find out you won’t be available, contact A-1 Auto Transport as soon as possible to let us know who will be there in your place. While we want the process to be as easy as possible, we cannot release a vehicle without prior authorization.
