Preparing your vehicle to ship.
When preparing your vehicle for transporting from the U.S port, you will need A1 Auto Transport services like door-to-port pick up for convenience. Your vehicle can also be scheduled for pick up anywhere you need it to be and then driven to the port for loading to ensure it makes it on the right shipment at the right time.
The port you select for the departure of the vehicle will be determined by where you live. There are many ports around the coast lines of the United States so this makes shipping more convenient for all.
Shipping Methods to Choose From.
When determining how to ship your vehicle from the United States to Paraguay, you have two shipping methods to choose from. The first is the Roll On/Roll Off method and the second is container shipping.
Container shipping gives you an option to choose either a 20 foot container or a 40 foot container that you can fill up with everything you want to bring with you. This is also the option most often selected for those who have an expensive vehicle to transport. Out of the two shipping methods available, the container shipping method is the most expensive.
Your vehicle will be driven onto the deck of the ship by way of ramps and then parked. The Roll On/ Roll Off method leaves your vehicle out on the ship’s deck where it will be exposed to all the elements of weather during the transport. You will only need to leave one-quarter tank of gas as those are the rules. Nothing will be allowed inside the vehicle with the exception of a set of keys in the glove box, the car jack and a spare tire.
Requirements for Transportation.
The Paraguay Customs doesn't currently have many restrictions to transporting a vehicle so importing should not be a problem. Duties will need to be paid once you reach your destination port. The amount paid will also depend on the port city you choose as the destination.
You will need to notify and get the permits from U.S Customs and Border Protection Agency before leaving the port with your vehicle on board. You will need to provide proof of ownership by showing a bill of sale. Your name must be listed as the purchaser. You will also need to show other proof such as a clear title that has no liens against it. If you have a lien on your vehicle, you will need to provide written authorization from the lienholder stating that you have permission to take the car out of the country.
You should make your transport plans as soon in advance as possible. Call the Embassy of Paraguay for requirements for auto imports or regarding paperwork and new policies.
