Car Shipping Panama City
Panama City is the largest city and capital of Panama. The city is situated at the beginning of the canal of the same name- the Panama Canal. It is the commercial, political, and administrative center of the country.
If you want to import, it is of dire importance to hire the services of an international service that has a successful past of moving. They should be aware of the laws and regulations and the requirements at the US port and the port. Eliminating any chance of problems right from the beginning can save a lot of issues from happening. That is why it is important to work with the A1-AT service. To check the closest port that is near you, you might need to look at the map of U.S ports. We offer ‘door to door’ and ‘port to port’ services. There would be an additional charge if you need door-to-door services. The destination ports are Manzanillo and Cristobal.

Costs and Documentation
The charges will take into account the method, freight charges, insurance, and value of the vehicle. If you move by exclusive container the fee will be higher than if you ship by RORO where the car is secured and parked on an open deck. Insurance on the auto is a requirement to secure it from damage during transit. And then there are steep port-imposed tariffs. A1-AT service has previous experience hauling and we can give you a fair estimate of the total price. Currently, the taxes are about 30% of the total CIF or Cost, insurance, and freight charges.
However, there is plenty of paperwork that has to be submitted at both the ports in the US and Panama. Though we will be with you through the procedures, it helps to know about the documents that are needed. These include:
- Driving license.
- passport.
- purchase invoice.
- insurance certification of the vehicle.
- The title deed of the car.
If you are unable to assess the import eligibility you can check with the Title 19 of the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations. Another aspect that we will take care of but you need to know is filing for intent with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection. All documents need to be with them at least 3-4 days before you move out of the vehicle.
Methods
The only option for sending is by the Roll-on/Roll-Off method. If you are close to any of the ports moving, you can drive it on your own and if you are far away, we offer ‘door-to-port’ services also.
The car must be functioning properly as the auto will be driven aboard and driven off the ship using its wheels. For safety and as a precaution, air conditioning gas has to be removed, the car cleaned completely and no personal belongings allowed inside the car.
