Iceland Car Shipping Company
Moving overseas can be a stressful thing to do. So many things have to be taken care of in advance to move, and the last thing you need to worry about is figuring out how to get your car to the country. When relocating to Iceland, you must plan ahead for shipping your car internationally. This will entail hiring a reputable auto transport company to transport your car to the exit port and deliver the car to you in Iceland. You’ll also need to know international shipping laws and regulations set forth by Customs in Iceland before shipping.
Legal Documentation
To import your car to Iceland, you must have owned the vehicle for at least months before shipping and lived in the country for at least one year. You won’t be allowed to sell or even loan your car to anyone once it reaches Iceland, and if you leave the country, you will have to ensure it is immediately exported back to the United States. You will be required to show your Passport and Visa when making plans to import the car, and you’ll have to be physically present when your car reaches the entry port in Iceland. You can get assistance from the auto transport agent to get your necessary documents together and ensure you have the correct paperwork filled out.

Before Your Automobile Leaves the Port of Exit
Before your car leaves the port of exit in the United States, you will want to ensure that you have a detailed price quote that will include all shipping and transport fees if the company needs to transport your car to the exit port. The shipping cost will vary depending on the type of shipping you use for your car. You will also want to contact U.S. Customs to see if there is paperwork that you may have missed while preparing the car for export from the U.S. The least expensive way to ship your car is Roro Shipping. Roro is the most widely used form of international shipping worldwide and is generally the safest way to ship a car. If you are relocating permanently or need to be in Iceland for an extended period due to work or school, you may want to ship your household belongings along with your car.
Container Hauling
If you need to do that, you would want to ship using Container Shipping. You can easily have personal items loaded inside your car and inside the container when shipping. You can also use Air Shipping if you will need your car quickly. Air Shipping is great for those who may have expensive luxury cars and want them to arrive as fast as possible.
For more information on shipping internationally, you can contact your auto transport agent, or you may want to contact the Embassy of Iceland to gather details on customs shipping and documentation that may have been added to the list of required documents. Customs laws tend to change occasionally, and you will want to have the most up-to-date information.

Information Regarding A1’s International Hauling Services
Through A1, we offer four different international transport methods for oversized cargo and heavy equipment. Not all of these shipping methods will be offered to you. What you’re able to take advantage of will rely heavily on the type of cargo you’re shipping to Hungary. For example, container shipping is the safest form of delivery we offer, yet if your cargo is too large to fit into the largest (40ft) shipping container, you will not have access to this form of transport.
Transport Methods
The rest of the transport methods we offer are open-air services. They include RoRo shipping, LoLo shipping, and flat rack shipping. All of them are affordable and cost-efficient, yet the way they are delivered is different. RoRo shipping is the cheapest, but it is only available to those shipping vehicles or equipment that can drive onto the ship using a ramp. LoLo shipping is suggested for those shipping crated equipment or inoperable vehicles outside of the U.S. With the third open-air shipping method, your cargo is secured to a metal frame before it’s placed on the boat. This method is called flat rack transport, and it’s available to anyone.
