Prepare the Right Way before Shipping a Car to Rwanda

Before you even think about shipping a car into Rwanda, contact the Embassy of the Republic of Rwanda. They will give you the latest rules and guidelines for vehicle import from the U.S.

You must assure that your vehicle meets the criteria and that you are able to fulfill your obligations before the vehicle even reaches one of the seaports nearest to the country. Then, if accepted, the vehicle will need to be taken by land to Rwanda.

After the Transport Is Scheduled.

The car will need to be properly prepared for the shipping process as recommended by the auto transport company. This will make the method more secure for everyone. Luckily, the prep work is modestly essential and doesn't require a ton of your time.

• The vehicle should be washed clean.
• The automobile should be free of all possessions. Unless container transport services are being used. Only the floor mats, spare tire, and auto jack should be inside the vehicle.
• The individual or owner transporting the vehicle should record all damages done to the vehicle. Taking pictures of visible damage is always wise.
• The fuel should be no higher than a ¼ of the tank and every single other liquid should be topped off. The tire weight should likewise be inspected.

Not only is it important that you clean and ready the car itself, but you must make sure that you have gathered all the necessary proof that must be brought to the Customs office. Customs is the place that can authorize a legal import and sign off their approval to ship a car to Rwanda.
