Fort Rucker Auto Shipping Services by A-1 Auto Transport
Dale County, Alabama is the home of Fort Rucker. This is a United States Army Post.
The army post gets its name from a Civil War officer, Confederate General Edmund Rucker. The post is the primary flight training ground of the United States Army Aviators. Part of Fort Rucker is a census-designated place with a population of 4600 people.
If your PCS has you heading to Fort Rucker and you have a vehicle, there is no need to be worried. We can help you get on track with moving your POV to the army post.
Shipping to a Base in the CONUS Area
Fort Rucker is in the continental United States. This means the government won’t be sponsoring your move including moving your vehicle. You will have to make your arrangements.
This doesn’t mean that there aren’t exceptions. Take your PCS and visit your transportation officer. You might be eligible for an exemption. This will mean the government will pay for the move.
With that said, you should get a head start in contacting an auto transportation company and making arrangements.

Military Car Shipping
You can make the shipping of your vehicle to the army station smooth and easy with proper planning and quick action.
While, it is a general rule to not sponsor your transportation to a base within the United States, there are exceptions to this rule. Confirm your eligibility for an exemption.
Fort Trucker might have specific rules for different vehicles. Ask your transportation officer for the rules and see if your vehicle is prohibited from being on base.
When this is confirmed, you will need to fill some forms and submit copies of certain documents. They include:
- An Exemption letter in addition to your PCS if you are eligible for an exemption
- Proof of ownership of the vehicle
- Means of identification as given by the United States government.
- Proof of lease including a permit to take the vehicle to the station. This is applicable if the vehicle is leased.
Preparing your car for Shipment
Before you submit your vehicle for shipping, there are two major things to do. They include:
- Checking the tires for leaks and fixing the leaks.
- Washing the car thoroughly with detergent and then rinsing with water.
Military Motorcycle Shipping
Since there might not be government sponsorship for your POV shipping, you will have to make your arrangements. If you have a car and a bike, you will pay for both which will be expensive.
You can make arrangements for both to be shipped together. If you are transporting only a bike, that will be counted as a single POV transportation. Transporting a bike will cost less than a car.
If you own the motorcycle to be shipped you will need to submit a copy of the proof of ownership. If it isn’t yours, you will need to submit an agreement permitting you to ship it to Fort Rucker. You will also need proof of any exemption you are eligible for.
Preparing your motorcycle for Shipment
Preparing your motorcycle for shipment is easy. However, these things are very important and will guarantee the safety of bikes as they are shipped.
- Take pictures of the motorbike you want to ship. Ensure you document every unique character of the bike.
- Drain the fuel and other fluids out of the bike to reduce the chance of spillage during shipping.
