What is the Different Ways To Transport A Car From State To State?
Hauling vehicles from one place is a complicated and delicate process. It requires adequate planning and investment. This is especially true for long journeys like coast-to-coast and state-to-state hauling. You need a company that can oversee a successful process, from start to end. The company should provide different ways to deliver that are insured and well within their comfort zone. Vehicles are sensitive machines that need to be handled with care, expertise, and professionalism. So, what better company to do the job than A1-AT Inc.?

State-to-state moving depends on a couple of things;
- The type of the vehicle: The type of vehicle determines how it will be moved. For instance, luxury ones are mostly hauled by air freight. The type of auto also constitutes the profile (the make of the automobile, model, weight, size, and condition).
- Location of the delivery: The location of the delivery dictates the total distance, the terrain, and the time it will take. Some locations favor the open-air method, while others don’t.
- Client budget: Some options are cheaper than others. The client’s budget, therefore, will be determined in different ways. Good companies offer no-obligation cost calculators for clients to have a look at the financial costs the various options require.
Different Ways to Haul
Open-air
The cheapest method is the open-air car. The vehicles are loaded onto an open-ended “flat rack,” from which they are strapped and secured using tie-downs and fasteners. The autos are then hauled by a truck that hauls the open-ended flat rack.
The open-air method is advantageous because it is universally available and affordable. It also accommodates different sizes, carrying up to 10 automobiles at a time. Standard saloons, SUVs, new and old cars, and trucks can all be delivered from one state to another using this open-air option.
Enclosed Option
Under this option, the autos are loaded into containers, which are then hauled by a long-haul truck. This option is more expensive than open air as the cargo containers are expensive to hire. However, it provides more safety as the thick metallic shell protects it from any external hazards. The downside of this, though, is that the enclosed method is reserved for standard vehicles whose dimensions can be comfortably accommodated by the container. Large ones with abnormal dimensions can pose difficulties by not fitting inside standard containers. Also, the enclosed nature of the intermodal container limits the space available to move multiple autos at one go. Enclosed hauling only accommodates 2 to 3 vehicles instead of the 8 to 10 automobiles supported under open air. However, the safety of this method outweighs its downside by a significant margin.
Door to door
This option involves delivery to an exact location in the destination state. The area can be a private residence, an office address, or a storage facility. It will be delivered to the doorstep of the given location. This option may prove to be expensive if the specific location is far.
Terminal to terminal
Under this option, it is picked up from a pre-determined location, delivered, and then dropped off at a designated area in the destination state. This pick-up point can be a parking lot, a storage facility location, or a public location most convenient to you.
Air freight
Air freight is reserved for high-value luxury autos or urgent orders. The cars are shipped in planes to the designated state.
