All aspects of your move must be handled when carrying within the United States. If you present your POV, you are unlikely to be reimbursed for your expenses. Exceptions do exist, however. You may be unable to prepare due to a medical condition or lack of time which is why some personnel are exempted from having to finance their sending by themselves. Military Vehicle Carrying

You can find out if there are any POV restrictions and limitations in the city. Understandably, you would like to get to your PCS orders as soon as possible; however, the distance between your departure point and Defense Supply Center Columbus may be substantial. If you drive your automobile a long distance to your new station, it may seem reasonable, but anything could go wrong along the way, causing delays. A late arrival on your first day would be a major mistake.

You are responsible for all preparations and shipping expenses because the area is located in the Continental United States. The government is under no obligation to repay you for any expenditures that you may incur. When we handle your POV transfer, we promise that everything will be on time and working properly.

When changing a POV, the following conditions must be met:

• At least four wheels are required.
• The vehicle must be self-moving.

Preparing your Automobile for Shipment

You must prepare your car for traveling. This is to ensure that it will be safe and clean by the time of pick-up. Follow the instructions before submitting your vehicle to us.

• Properly clean your vehicle's exterior.
• When checking tire pressure, look for leaks.
