Kauai is one of the oldest of the Hawaiian Islands and is home to amazing lush botanical gardens, spectacular beachfront attractions, and many amazing places to hike through the wilderness. The water of Kauai is clear, warm, and inviting for all. With a local population of nearly 70,000 and host to thousands of tourists annually, Kauai still maintains a small, hometown feel to it even with the bountiful things to do for fun in the area. The Nepali Coast which is a colorful area of the island complete with cliffs and incredible ocean views is one of the most popular attractions of Kauai and people often take kayak trips, extreme hikes, and even helicopter tours just to see it up close.
If you plan to move around from one area to the next during your stay in Kauai, you may want to consider bringing it along, so you can easily hop from one side of the island to the other. Yes, you can rent an auto or even walk or catch a ride on public conveyance but being able to drive is always a nice way to get around.
If you’re going to move, you might want to know what it might cost you or how you can get it to the island at all. While it can seem a little stressful to have to plan a shipment overseas, with the right professional advice and assistance it can be handled easily.
First, you should know that on average for a standard-sized vehicle moving from the west coast of the mainland to Hawaii, the fee averages around USD 1000. For larger cars or longer-distance relocations, the price will vary.

How Autos Are Hauled
You can ship with the Roll-On Roll-Off method, also known as RoRo, or with Container moving.
With the RoRo method, cars are rolled onto a large ship, secured in place, and hauled across the ocean. This is often the least expensive, albeit safe, way to move. You should know that your auto will be fully exposed to the elements during the RoRo option, but no more so than when you drive down the road daily.
You can also haul inside a large container and while containers can cost a little more depending on the company, the car is ultimately safer secured inside a container. You can also pack household goods inside a container.
Many people opt to share a container with another customer and if you can do this, it can cut your expenses in half. Be sure to check with the agent to see if it is possible to share a container for the shipment.
